Charles Faust accompanied his father, John, from Texas to California in the late 1930s. John is believed to have worked for Ed Bohlin in Hollywood for a short time before opening his own saddle shop in Pasadena around 1940. Charles worked for MacPherson in Los Angeles before taking over his father’s saddle shop where he made a number of ornate silver saddles to appeal to the Southern California parade riders of that era.
