Nemesio Carlos Castillo, known to his friends as “Charlie”, was a prolific and highly regarded silver saddle maker in Southern California during the 1930s and 40s developing a loyal clientele within the Long Beach mounted posse who could afford his fancy parade saddles at their affordable price point far below that of Edward H. Bohlin, Hollywood’s renowned by pricey saddlemaker to the stars.
