Started in 1941 in Houston, Texas, by William Nelson, the Nelson Company struggled during WWII due to the shortage of precjous metals but by the 1950s was booming business fueled by the popularity of Hollywood cowboys of the era.
Floyd Silva closed the shop in 2004 but in 2021, Fred Reyna, a Houston native, bought the company and resumed production of the brands iconic western buckles and jewelry including rodeo trophy buckles
