The Lichtenberger-Ferguson Company was established in downtown Los Angeles in 1900 at 262-266 Los Angeles Street as wholesale dealers promoting themselves as “The Home of Superior Leather Goods. Early employees included the Andrew, Robert and Richard Brydon -- three brothers, who started the renowned Brydon Brothers Saddlery in 1902. They had early training at the shop of Lichtenberger but decided to open their own saddle shop in 1902 at 239 South Main Street in Los Angeles.They carried a full line of saddles, bridles, harness, reins, chaps, California and Texas Bits and Spurs in addition to findings and auto accessories. They flourished to the mid-century when they were acquired by Keyston Bros.
