Born and raised in Midland, Texas Laddan spent most of his time wrapped up in the rodeo world as a professional bull rider. He became interested in silver work by hanging out in Terry Starnes’ work shop and after being encouraged by Brody Bolton ( 3B Leather work), he attended Johnny Weyert’s School of Engraving (February 2009) for beginners and he did not stop there. In the beginning he made contact, and spent time with many amazing engravers such as Stewart Williamson, Wilson Capron, Russell Yates, and Mike Pardue, who have all made a huge impact on his work. He also attended the TCAA Winter Workshop with Wilson Capron and Russell Yates in February 2011 and in November 2011 I attended Johnny Weyert’s advance class.
