The popular and much revered Bob Hall was born in a log cabin in Dade County, Missouri in 1915 -- moving to Riverside then Hanford, California when he was a teenager. Hall made his first pair of spurs from spare oil rig parts while working as a cowboy on a ranch in the 1930s. Bob joined the army in the early 1940s training cavalry horses. When he was discharged, he opened up a saddlery in King City making bits, spurs and saddles. In 1980, R.M. started a bit and spur making school and later published a book on the subject from his home and shop in Jolon, Calif.
