Lyrical brushstrokes of light are Lani’s trademark style, be it sunlight on a horse’s back, the quizzical look of a sparrow as it cocks its head, the colors of a sunset or the petal of a flower. She paints still lifes, landscapes and figures with equal enthusiasm, but is best known for her portraits of animals, both domestic and wild. The fact that she is an animal lover comes through canvases. Her paintings hang in the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs and most recently in the collections of The Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Devil’s Thumb Lodge of Winter Park Co and the Ritz-Carlton Residences of Vail, CO. She has won national awards through the years and is a signature member of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.
