Turid was born and raised in Oslo, Norway. Since her childhood, art has played a vital role in her life. She credits her high school art teacher as the one who taught her the basics. Turid earned an Art History degree at the University of Houston. She moved to New Mexico in 1976 and found a wealth of exciting material in the beautiful artifacts of Native Americans. “These and my adopted homeland itself continue to be my sources of inspiration.”
