Ed Gillmore was a popular saddle maker in the San Fernando Valley on Ventura Blvd. in Los Angeles, c 1930-50s. He was a good friend of Gene Autry's and made many of the saddles used in Autry's popular Madison Square Garden Show. Frankie Paul apprenticed with Ed before opening his own saddle shop in Arcadia around 1934. Gillmore was murdered in 1940 and the shop sold to Hollywood Saddlery
