Stewart’s family has ranched in the Southwest for over 120 years. Stewart grew up on a ranch in Southeastern New Mexico. He grew up working with horses - so good, quality, functional cowboy gear has always fascinated him. In 2003, he attended Johny Weyerts’ engraving school in Alpine, Texas. He was quickly hooked, and he started practicing diligently and sought tips and advice from makers whose work he admired. He is grateful to Wilson Capron, Jerry Falkner, Mike Anders, Russell Yates and Joe Spiller for sharing their knowledge of the craft. Stewart’s goal is to make top quality pieces that are both functional and pleasing to the eye. Stewart is married and he gives credit for his success to his wife, Toni.
