State of origin:
Last known City: Canyon
Last known State: TX
Start/Birth date:
Death/End date:

Cecil Blasingame has spent his entire life as a working cowboy. He recognizes the value of well-made equipment. Cecil became interested in spur making over thirty years ago. After watching one of his brothers make a pair of spurs he decided to try his hand at the art form. It did not take long and Cecil had friends wanting him to make spurs for them.

Today Cecil makes spurs strictly in the Texas style tradition. He prides himself in making pieces that are solid with clean craftsmanship, classic cowboy patterns, and wheat cut engraving on the overlays. He likes to incorporate nickel silver with jeweler’s gold, copper, and brass for accents in his overlays.

Cecil has been married for over 35 years and has one daughter. The entire family loves the cowboy way of life. Blasingame’s spurs, bits, and buckles are designed for the working cowboys, whom he explains, “ . . . demand the best tools that they can get."
