The Rios name can be traced back to the mid-1800s when the Rios family of General Teran, Mexico, gained a reputation as premier artisans in the art of boot making. Around 1900, the Rios family began making boots in the Texas Rio Grande valley and by the 1940s the two brothers, Abraham and Zeferino, were creating fabulous and unique variations utilizing colored thread, filigree and leather combinations that were unrivaled by boot makers of that era.
