Red Grooms, an American painter known for his exuberant pop art renditions of urban life, was born in 1937 in Nashville, TN. Grooms, an accomplished artist of both national and international fame, has been characterized as a cross between P T Barnum and Marcel Duchamp because of his “court jester” status in the pop art world.
