Hugh and Thomas Moran are believed to have started the first and one of the most historic saddleries in Miles City, Montana in the late 1870s, operating a two-man shop with limited but high quality leather work. They sold the shop in 1895 to Charles E Coggshall who went into a brief partnership with Al Furstnow before eventually becoming the longstanding and popular Miles City Saddlery. The Moran Bros, Miles City, MT marking is one of the most coveted of the celebrated 19th century makers.
