Born in 1967 in Kansas, Ron Biss grew up as a working cowboy taking-up spur making after a horse accident curtailed his riding in 1999. He is largely self-taught drawing inspiration from the more creative, early California Vaquero spur makers like GS Garcia and Jesus Tapia.
