The Diablo Mfg Co was founded in Oakland, CA by co-founders Clinton DeWitt and Bill Magers in 1945. In 1963 Diablo bought out the Visalia Stock Saddlery Co as well as patent rights to the Visalia Humane Bit. Diablo Silversmiths relocated to several northern California locations -- ultimately settling in the Sierra Nevada foothill town of Grass Valley. Diablo made silver mounted bits and spurs along with a few parade saddle but is primarily know for its popular western belt buckles.
