Perhaps the most distinctive quality of Eric Michaels’ work is his connection to people. This fine example shows life in a small village in Old Mexico and the vulnerability of the villagers when uninvited, armed men arrive. Eric continues to have a keen grasp of light and both his deep empathy and technical virtuosity take him straight to the heart of the people he portrays and the stories he tells.

Perhaps the most distinctive quality of Eric Michaels’ work is his connection to people. This fine example shows a group of Indians retreating, with some frustration. Eric continues to have a keen grasp of light and motion and empathy for his subjects is reflected in every brush stroke.

Eric Michaels is a signature member of the Oil Painters of America, the National Watercolor Society, and the Pastel Society of America.

His paintings hang in private, corporate and museum collections throughout the world
